MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS
All communication from your company can be labelled as marketing communications:
- Advertisements,
- Brochures,
- Flyers,
- In-house Magazines,
- Letterheads,
- E-mail signatures,
- Internal Memo’s
- Public Notices,
- Product description,
- Company issued orders,
- SMS’s,
- Press Releases,
- and etcetera!
Some aspects of marketing communications can be frustrating but very few aspects of my daily activities can compare to that moment when the desired creative idea is born.
Many people in this industry, some substantially more successful than I am argues this moment of clarity isn’t needed, and they are spot on. This industry like most others is scientific by nature. You must be able to produce professional material following a successful recipe, often without a particular moment of brilliance.
Still, when the project allows and the material is suitable, sometimes something new is born – fresh, enticing, something creative with enough juice to carry the entire campaign and beyond. Afterwards, when the adrenalin has subsided and the project is signed off; I analyse, compare and file for access one day when I battle to get a unique angle.
